About Mauro Sigura, DUNIA & Migrantes

Born in Turin and now based in Sardinia, Mauro Sigura is celebrated for his mastery of the oud and bouzouki. His latest project, *DUNIA*, formed in 2023 with Marcello Peghin (electric guitar), Pierpaolo Ranieri (electric bass), and Evita Polidoro (drums), represents a bold step into electric jazz fusion. The debut album premiered at the European Jazz Festival 2023 in Cagliari to critical acclaim.

The name DUNIA, meaning “Woman” or “Mother” in some cultures, reflects themes of universality and connection. The music blends incisive melodies with layered textures, bridging ancient traditions with modern sounds. This innovative approach has positioned Sigura as a leading figure in contemporary world jazz fusion.

Sigura’s other projects include Migrantes, a collaboration with Andrea Manzoni that began in 2018 at the European Jazz Expo. This duo creates a vibrant mix of genres aimed at breaking cultural barriers. Additionally, the *Tular Trio* explores Mediterranean rhythms through improvisation and traditional instruments like the oud and accordion.

With these upcoming performances across Europe, Mauro Sigura continues to redefine the boundaries of jazz and world music. Don’t miss the chance to experience this extraordinary artist live!
